The new fashion in a bathroom is to have a wetroom, although they have been installed for a number of years in Europe. If you decide that you want a wetroom or wet area, it can be installed whether you have a concrete or a timber floor. There is no step into the shower and usually, no shower door. The entire area is waterproofed with a drain in the floor, which is built with a natural fall for water to drain away.
The area is then tiled resulting in a fashionable, more spacious feel to the entire bathroom.
